And I think he did great work with media but honestly nothing had me saying "oh wow communicator of a generation."
No. He's likeable, he's decent, his policies are popular, he has a campaign work ethic.
Maybe most importantly: he obviously had competent staff and obviously listened to them.

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

It affects everyone, even if your insurance isn’t directly affected.
My fiances parents, my grandparents etc. no one is ready for the rising premiums

Also if you get insurance through your employer and are sighing a deep breath of relief (while obviously still giving a shit about this issue)
understand your insurance through your employer can go up as well, and coverage offered lessened.
And if you lose your job and can't quickly find another

JFC is this bad. Straight up cash transfer to the shadiest Republican senators and an assault on the rule of law.
Buried inside the deal to reopen government is a provision that would give Senators private right of action to sue for millions in damages over their phone records being analyzed by Jack Smith's team.

I had to explain to some people today that when people start opting out of the market because they can no longer afford it (hi, it will be me), it will affect pricing & availability for EVERYONE. No one benefits from any of this.

Yeah, I stay at this job bc of insurance as it is literally unaffordable to maintain the necessary level of care for a family member without it, but that same insurance just removed all secondary transgender procedures and greatly reduced coverage for stuff like orchi, AND is fucking with me today.
