My fellow US satirists, now is the time to do your thing.

Self-censoring is “obeying in advance.”

Forget your career—draw blood

Tear down these crooks & fools

Whether you’re writing for Colbert or doing one night in some black box over a bowling alley, NOW is the time to

LET IT RIP!!!!
Claudia Cardinale, so wonderful.
RIP Claudia Cardinale. Much like Robert Redford, she was a rare case of a beautiful performer with a filmography full of bangers who did NOT become right-wing later in life. Here she is punching fascist Brigitte Bardot in the face in Les Pétroleuses (1971).

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stated that the 1918 flu pandemic was caused by a lab virus from vaccine research, a defective influenza vaccine. Let’s analyze what a lie this is. First, in 1918, 107 years ago, virology was in its infancy

Every story about Johnson's term as Speaker of the House should highlight what an objective failure he's been and how Republicans are incapable of competently governing.

this is the simple answer to people who keep saying NATO expansion matters. Sure, it matters because it presented an obstacle to Russian imperial ambitions. Putin didn't invade because he hated NATO expansion, he hated NATO expansion because he wanted to invade

ICE showed up on private property without a Warrant and was sneaking around so when the one of the owners showed up he told them to get off the property and they did because they know that what they were doing was illegal and they're being watched by everyone now including Judges

I kinda feel like now that the right wingers both Catholic and Protestant feel like they won the abortion battle they’re starting to remember all the reasons they hated each other before they teamed up for political clout and we will start seeing more of this
Damn, I found a “Catholics aren’t Christians because they worship Mary” in the wild! I thought those only lived in message boards and Utah.

some good climate/energy news:

* 96% of new US power capacity was carbon-free in 2024 (56 gigawatts!)

* 2025 included the first month ever when 51% of power on the U.S. grid was carbon-free

* The golbal trend is overwhelming: The world is now investing more $ in clean energy than fossil fuels

im already foreseeing a scenario where dems do their usual thing and try to mealy-mouth their way around not abolishing ice, and those of us who call for the agency's end are derided as absolutists pushing "purity." my response is: fuck that. we keep giving up the line. hold the line.
Democrats should start explaining what they will do to ICE if they win in 2026 right now. Show these videos. Help people understand that ICE is not law enforcement.
If you are active on this site, you probably know how bad ICE is, but not everyone does.

Last and best, from a kindergartener my mom and her sisters rode the school bus with back in the early ‘60s:

“You mean old thing from outer space! Why don’t you go home and eat a fuck salad!”

I am still convinced that this is the single greatest burn of all time.
What's an insult you'll never forget?

This, this, THIS.

There is NO legitimacy to this government; it is simply a criminal enterprise enabled by threats of violence.

“But why are Americans supporting…?”

WE AREN’T. Our legislators and judiciary are afraid of being killed.
We don’t spend enough time discussing how the entire MAGA movement is kept afloat by the constant threats of stochastic terrorism orchestrated by the president of the United States.

Congress, the courts, much of the media … all kept in line by the mob boss and his army of anonymous goons.
“I’m 84 years old. Threats against my life expectancy are kind of hollow. I don’t have much time anyway. I’m more concerned that our democracy is at risk because of the trends against the rule of law.” www.nbcnews.com/politics/pol...

This is clearly a step towards flooding the capitol with "citizen soldiers" if Trump is ever removed.

They are determined to knock down every barrier to Trumpist paramilitaries. Which is why it was so important to draw the line at J6.

here's the 60 minutes cecot video part 1 of 5 - recorded/uploaded by and all credit to @jasonparis.bsky.social

I just reduced background noise, chopped the 14 minutes into 3 minute segments each compressed under 100 mb for bsky's limits, cropped and rotated a few degrees for easier viewing on here
