NYC can & must end the subminimum wage for tipped restaurant workers! We need to pass NYC’s Outdoor Dining bill. It’s good for workers & restaurants. Read more from me, @bradlander.bsky.social, & Saru Jayaraman of One Fair Wage: www.nydailynews.com/2025/12/23/n...

This week marks my wife Meg & our dear friend Joyce’s sixth “kidney-versary.” In December 2019 (with the pandemic just a few short months away, unbeknownst to us at the time, of course), Meg donated one of her kidneys to Joyce at Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Alexa Avilés is a progressive champion, a fierce defender of immigrants & working class families, and an amazing rep for our community.

In this race, she’s showing powerful solidarity by unifying progressives, so we can win together.

I’m immensely grateful for her support.

NY’s “LLC Transparency Act” was passed by @emilyassembly.bsky.social in 2023 to stop abusive landlords hiding behind shell companies.

Changes by Trump to federal rules opened up a huge loophole. So this year, the NYS legislature passed a fix.

Join me in asking Gov. Hochul to close the LLC loophole

“[Politicians] are delighted to weaponize antisemitism, to weaponize Jewish fear, against Muslims especially, but really against inclusive, multiracial democracy.”

@bradlander.bsky.social explains how politicians are weaponizing antisemitism to create more division.

Last night, I celebrated the first night of Hanukkah in Grand Army Plaza with Chabad of Park Slope.

Happy Hanukkah! Thank you to Chabad of Park Slope for shining light in times of darkness, and showing we will never yield to hate.

Tonight — as we do every year, but so much more poignantly — we will celebrate Hanukkah in Grand Army Plaza w/Chabad of Park Slope.

Brooklyn’s largest menorah will shine in memory of those killed in Sydney. And to make sure their light never goes out.

Extraordinary courage from Ahmed al Ahmed, a Muslim, 43-year-old father of two, who bravely risked his life to save his neighbors celebrating Hanukkah.

Praying for his full & speedy recovery.

And so deeply inspired by his example.

Among those murdered in Sydney is Rabbi Eli Schlanger.

Earlier this year, Rabbi Schlanger’s son Nossen became bar mitzvah, reading from a Torah that tied his family back generations, both to devastating loss and to Jewish resilience. www.australianjewishnews.com/an-incredibl...

A deeply sad morning, with heartbreaking mass killings in Providence & Sydney.

Innocent students killed in a classroom. At least 11 people by gunmen at a Hanukkah celebration.

Too many guns here. Frightening levels of antisemitism globally. So much senseless violence & hate.

If I were a Member of Congress, I would not have voted with Republicans to censure Rashida Tlaib (like 22 House Dems did).

But I sure would have already introduced a resolution to censure this bigot:
GOP Rep. Randy Fine says he's "not afraid" of being called "Islamophobic" and that, instead of making peace with Palestinians, "destroy them first."

This was during a hearing on "Judea and Samaria"—a term used to erase Palestinian ties to what's actually known as the West Bank.

A year ago, our lawsuits helped make sure congestion pricing would go into effect on January 1, 2025. Now, the results are clear:

Congestion pricing has resulted in a marked drop in air pollution – not just in Lower Manhattan, but throughout the metro region.
Particulate pollution in the air down a whopping 22% in NYC’s congestion pricing zone.

Not only are the streets less congested, but so are our lungs.

Taking children from their families is not normal.

Six-year-olds know it. Even if POTUS doesn’t.

Thanks to @indivisible.org Western Queens, PS 166 families, and his teacher Rachel, whose beautiful description of Yuanxin Zheng reduced us all to tears.
