Social media appears to have been a lifeline for Brianna Ghey, something she used to connect with other trans people, something that would have been difficult to do when I was her age. But her mother is talking about how social media "killed her", that she "died twice." It's revolting.

The new school guidance and the changes to trans youth healthcare very much are conversion practices. They are processes set up to deny trans children their ability to transition and deny their identity as trans all set up to get them to desist

Its actually so infuriating and patronising and degrading to be told a conversion therapy ban is coming all the while Labour is actually actively implementing conversion onto trans youth across healthcare and education
Like I remember in the run up to the last GE when that conversion therapy ban was part of Labour's big pitch to LGBTQ+ voters. They haven't even published a draft bill. We're talking about banning a form of abuse here, this shouldn't be complicated. And yet.

I dont remember which science influencer it was that said it but the best response i ever saw to the Celsius or Fahrenheit question was “Kelvin“ like yeah fuck you this is all relative can we grow up please
Celsius is the scientist temperature measurement in that it’s the most conceptually coherent , Fahrenheit is the engineer temperature measurement in that it’s actually optimized to be useful for it’s main use case of communicating everyday temperatures.
