What strikes me is how similar this sounds to what he says should happen to Venezuela
Keir Starmer now tells PA: "Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark are to decide the future of Greenland, and only Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark."

Unclear why ministers and Downing Street wouldn't say this earlier

Tbf the refusing to condemn a potential invasion of Greenland thing does properly lay out the Labour gov’s position on international law in that they don’t know what it is except for whats convenient in their alliance with the US

The fetishisation of fence sitting and appeasement and smart adult politics
You do not gotta hand it to the guy refusing to say NATO countries shouldnt invade each other what the fuck is wrong with you and why are you following me
Going to do something unusual and defend Mike Tapp, what else is he supposed to say?

The consistent UK policy on defence has been "sounds hard." Even after the invasion of Ukraine, we did nothing to build independent capacity, we depend on Trump which means saying ridiculous stuff like this.

Jeez. Greenland is in the NATO alliance. How hard can this be?

Labour policy on USA global interventions

Dont make daddy mad! Daddy can do whatever he wants! As official international law policy yeeeeeehawww
What will happen when this does not, in fact, translate into America standing behind Ukraine, and it is instead the White House pressuring them to quit fighting? Will there be a rethink at that point.

Blasphemy

Also, my prediction is that if at some point the US does in fact invade Greenland, Starmer’s UK would in fact choose Trump’s side. When the conflict escalation happens with NATO and the EU in no way is the UK suddenly seeing sense. As is, the UK is subservient to the US and will remain so

Whomst among us wouldnt manufacture consent for illegal breaches international law by the power grabbing fascist ey, thats just smart responsible politics

Guys starting to think the ✨special relationship✨ might be an abusive one
Trade secretary Jonathan Reynolds: "America is a friend, America is our principal ally, our relationship is an incredibly strong economic one, but also a security one as well."

“im scared of making daddy mad“ as a way of ruling fuck me
Keir Starmer: "I constantly remind myself that 24/7 our defence, our security & our intelligent relationship with the US matters probably more than any other relationship we've got in the world and it would not be in our national interest to weaken that in any way"

“What is international law“ “dunno you should ask trump“ official line of the Labour party
Govt minister Darren Jones is asked what element of international law gives the US the right to abduct the leader of another country.

Jones says he's not qualified to answer that question and he's not a spokesperson for the US administration.

To Starmer international law seems to mean “whatever Trump, judge of all the west, decides makes a good excuse”
Starmer and Farage both drape themselves in flags but once again it's really clear where their loyalty really is.

It's Trump first. They will always be on the side of the super rich and powerful - no matter how heinous the crime.

This is not patriotism. It's subservience.
