This is John Roberts' America.
The blatant selling of pardons is perhaps the clearest instance of criminal conduct authorized by SCOTUS. Pardons are a quintessential "official act." So, even when Trump takes a bribe to issue one, he is presumably above the criminal law.
The president’s own chief of staff was reportedly stunned by his pardon of a former Honduran president.

It was entirely predictable but if Kamala D. Harris randomly conjured up a battleship on a wholly unrealistic timeline with weapons not actually in production with the same cost as a carrier, these guys would be hurling slurs not seen since reconstruction, instead it’s just:

The rate of return here is crazy: for a few hundred thousand dollars, this lab produces literally billions of oysters and supports a seafood industry worth hundreds of millions. And the Trump administration is just like "fuck all that, it's wasteful spending, you're fired"

Every single person in this picture should be in prison by 2030, just as Bolsonaro is.

We cannot avoid imposing consequences and still have a democracy. We should dedicate ourselds to that effort and demand our representatives call for it too.
This is a photo from the Vanity Fair article. Notice how they have to arrange it so Stephen Miller is on the end, so it isn’t obvious that there is no reflection of him on the mirrored table.🧛

Today in the casual media normalization of personalist, nepotistic authoritarianism.

Jared Kushner holds no senior Senate-confirmed post in the US government. He is the son-in-law & business partner of the president. This is unprecedented, massive corruption & media outlets should treat it as such.

Have you noticed how “corruption” is a constant media buzzword in articles about Ukraine, yet rarely comes up when discussing the current administration? Many things the Trump administration did would be considered exorbitant even by today’s Ukrainian “corruption standards”.

If during the Biden administration, masked feds had stormed the campus of a Christian college like Hillsdale to apprehend someone while pointing guns at students and administrators, Republicans would have filed impeachment articles immediately and taken to the streets.
ICE stormed a residence hall at Augsburg University, detained an undergrad, and aimed rifles at students and staff then admitted they had no warrant to be on campus.

This is state violence. This is terror. And this is exactly what Trump’s America unleashes on our communities.

The Supreme Court paved the way for a felon to return to the presidency — where, behind the shield of office, that felon has ordered a string of murders.
The boat was split in half. 9 men were dead. 2 more clung to a floating piece of wreckage and tried desperately to flip it over for 41 minutes straight. There was no possible way they were going anywhere.

Then they were killed in cold blood by the U.S. military.

It’s true. We shouldn’t pretend that. Trumpist culture is not the same as American culture and not equal. Trumpist culture is proudly ignorant, defiantly against America’s founding values and subsequently developed values, venomously bigoted, and generally despicable.
Fox News' Will Cain: "I’m sure there are very honorable law-abiding upstanding citizens and contributors from the Somali community here in the United States, BUT..."

He goes on to say "we aren’t going to pretend here that all cultures are of equal value or the same."

one thing that receives almost no attention is that the only reason he ran for president again is because he had to to avoid prosecution for a litany of crimes, the whole plan was: 1). Take shelter in SCOTUS-granted immunity. 2). Loot.
