GenAI is so bad at producing quality results that the sales spin is now literally "hey, just let your product be kinda crappy, who really cares how good it is anyway, the important thing is not paying people"
Can't wait for the loosened up, non-perfect, but quickly shipped AI-enhanced updates to hit my banking and insurance services next year.

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.

This MARTY sequel doesn't seem very true to the character

I saw 34 movies in theaters this year, and I can't wait to do it again next year. Here's how the movies won Gen Z back. www.businessinsider.com/movies-in-th...
Gen Z moviegoing is back. I welcome my fellow movie freaks with open arms.
I'm not the only movie theater freak out there: Gen Zers are bringing it back.

I don't know why it took me until now to put together that the reason there's a lot of people who put their faith into ChatGPT et al is because of anthropomorphism. This is just pareidolia, but for words. They're seeing a human where there isn't one.
"they will be, one day"

no, they won't, any more than tires can help you fly. They're not built for that. They're a fundamentally different technology. An LLM does not exist to model conscious thought, it exists to take advantage of your willingness to see faces in things that aren't there.

Hades II has got its claws into me now. I struggled with the pacing difference from I to II but once you get into its groove it's every bit as addictive and charming as the first one, with added scale and depth to boot.

Forgive me for holding the opinion that functions performed on remote data centres and not in an app running locally aren't actually features of the app

I have been given an air fryer for Christmas, heralding a probably short-lived struggle between high-minded visions of cooking balanced healthy meals and just pounding multiple kilograms of nuggies at a time

I ordered this for my sister's birthday (which is near to Christmas) and am very excited to gift it as she fucking looooved Andor
So looking ahead to Christmas - if any of you do end up with copies of ‘Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire’ absolutely tag me in any photos!

For those of you who already have it and like that sort of book... Let’s see what next year brings, shall we…?

When Breaking Bad was airing, the ricin cigarette was kind of the show's unexploded bomb for a while. Vince Gilligan clearly wasn't satisfied with that

Maaaaaan there is a really weird effects shot in the season finale of PLURIBUS and I'm desperate to know what it was put in there to cover

Holy moly, CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER is a veritable smorgasbord of That Guy actors. Virtually every scene, just packed to the rafters with the motherfuckers.

Also did Trump watch this thing this year or what

TikTok is removing clips of the leaked 60 Minutes segment.

The Ellison family (which acquired Paramount — CBS’s parent company — and The Free Press, making Bari Weiss Editor-in-Chief of CBS) is set to co-own TikTok through a Trump-backed deal.

Anyone who cites sci-fi literature, TV, or movies about artificial life to push narratives about the supposed personhood of AI misses the point that none of those stories were actually about artificial life, they were allegories about humanity, *as all science fiction is*

2025: America watches Canadian bootlegs of journalism about US concentration camps. Nothing is for sale, everything is for rent. Computers will take your job but will be worse than you at it. You make less than ever but can gamble on your credit balance. One racist ket addict gets paid $1 trillion.

For real, most screenwriting back-end negotiations are fiercely fought over single-digit percentage shares of the net profits, and it ain't high single digits

The kitchen fight scene in this film is an all-timer. Great movie.
30 years ago today SUDDEN DEATH was released in theaters. It quickly became my favorite film from Van Damme as well as director Peter Hyams and it’s “Die Hard at a Hockey Game” hook is one of the most underrated variations of the John McClane blueprint.
