oh you don't have to just call your reps. It's 2025, nothing matters. I have John Thune on speed dial and I don't live in South Dakota. If they're going to make my life hell, I'm going to make their staffers life just a little bit more uncomfortable.

This is what I want to start emphazising more to our "leaders" in the United States Congress.

These people think they have a hard time now? Wait till people start putting basic facts together and realize what an obscenely gigantic role they are playing in protecting insurrectionists.
And I will add, the longer they continue this stupid game, the more and more criminal exposure they have to providing aid/comfort to insurrectionists, an extremely serious charge.

Let’s be clear: this is class warfare.

Tens of thousands of working-class Americans are going to die because of this “deal.”

Real people. Real deaths. For another tax break for the rich.

Those who voted for it — Republicans and Democrats — are on the side the 1%, fighting against the rest of us.
This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

anyway if dems think I'm gonna forget this shit in 5 months, they're wrong. if they think I'm gonna forget it in 5 years, they're wrong. they have fully convinced me that purging the party of these inept losers in the senate is more important than retaking the senate in the next election cycle

Hey so if you see your senator in this list, could you please call them tomorrow and tell them that you’re mad because they voted to kill the entire hemp farm industry, including your buddy Derek in Oregon?

Thanks, buddy.

do NOT change your party affiliation. you're going to give up literally the one tool you have to push for change.

the USA doesn't have a viable 3rd party and will NEVER have one until some fundamental laws get changed, and you can't do that if you don't suborn one of the major political parties!
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

You're right, it's my fault the elected Democratic senators folded. My anger at their lack of will to fight made them so sad that they lost their will to fight.
The defeatism on the left after we just had one of the most high profile primary upsets ever, is absolutely insane. The path forward is right there, we just saw a huge step work

Explains so much about why elected Dems roll over and surrender immediately. That's what most of the voter base does too.
Yes, and now everyone realizes we can't win with this team. Time to blow it up and rebuild. Tank for some picks.

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

I'll get back to "party unity" as soon as the Senate Minority Leader tells us if he voted for the Democratic party nominee for mayor of his city.

I'm tired of party unity only ever running one way.

I don't block people for much but I got a hair trigger for the Dem defenders. I expect the Republicans to try and dismantle the country; that's their plan and they say it out loud. But I voted for the people who are supposed to oppose that plan and they're not doing that so why would I support them
I’m watching Hakeem Jeffries fight for his life to defend the Senate Democrats. Naturally their inability to fight is due to the Republicans 🙄

That being said, as I've said a few times, I am vehemently against the false premise of this shutdown.

ACA subsidies are not nearly a big enough ask given how extreme this crisis is. They need to be calling for Trump to be removed from office and thrown in prison.

That's the moderate position.

I understand what the roll call vote totals are going to be but if the other Democrats had a problem with this deal they would be withholding unanimous consent on advancing it and loudly naming their colleagues as traitors.
