I've never seen such pretty snails as these ones I found in England (Cepaea nemoralis and Cepaea hortensis)

Genus Ferissia, idk the species. They're called "freshwater limpets" but they're actually ramshorn snails in disguise, since they're in Planorbidae. I find them clinging to fallen leaves in a local creek.

And, of course, it can produce distressing quantities of slime bubbles which pour out from under its butt shell.
I found this one when I was digging around in the dirt at my local cemetery, for reasons.

It has a bright peachy-orange underside, and its head is on a skinny little "neck" that looks very disproportionate to the rest of it.

Not quite a "snail", but what is a snail besides a slug with a shell?
Meet Testacella maugei, which looks like a fat slug with a clam shell glued to its butt.

Scales, courtesy of an unusually cooperative (and cold) western fence lizard. Traded the heat of my hand in exchange for some photos - I think we we were both pleased with the deal.

Higgins and his ilk see this as an opportunity to try some eugenics. He's the guy who voted for David Duke for Governor, after all...

He invited a neo-nazi on his show to spout antisemitic stuff, but that's nothing new - Carlson has always been pretty openly pro-Nazi.
I think what most of the fuss is REALLY about is this bit of the interview.... you can see how it might upset a few of his regular audience:

I set up trail cams on some of the trails I frequent, discovered I share them with this guy.
He seems to only be using them after dark and I use them in the daytime, so the division seems fair

We'd be better off as a society if raccoons were eligible for public office. I'm not sure my yard-raccoon has the experience to be a senator, but she's a hardworking single mom of 5, and I'd probably support her in a bid for mayor at the very least.

If you're a Californian, please consider picking a favorite Democratic candidate for Governor and helping campaign for them. Because this is one of the guys running on the republican side.
