This report came out before you were elected, @mark-carney.bsky.social, but now it's your responsibility. What is your plan to address this?

Internal report describes a 'cesspool of racism' in the federal public service | CBC News
An internal report on workplace racism and harassment at the highest levels of the federal public service shows that not even the federal government’s top executives are immune from the problem.

Black history is more than injustice and perseverance against persecution. Our cultures are rich, community-driven, distinct and retains commonalities everywhere in the world. The injustice is what you brought to us. Say it with your full chest
Black history is the human race. You’re welcome.
The history of Black Canadians is one of relentless progress, earned through perseverance, and carried forward by opening doors for so many to follow.

This week, we celebrated 30 years of Black History Month in Canada.

Palantir, Deloitte, and the private prison giant GEO Group took in more than $22 billion from ICE and CBP last year. Behind the spreadsheets and contracts, there's a quieter truth: someone is getting rich from cages, borders, and human pain. Profit has always been fluent in the language of cruelty.

Anyone heard about the riots in Italy outside the Olympic Village protesting ICE and Israel’s presence there? Anyone heard about it on mainstream Canadian news?

My TL is talking more about the West Indian, South and Central American representation more than the results of the Super Bowl
Those convos are barely happening here. A reason to keep my Twitter account: you can have truly cultural discussions on there with many people that are representative

Surya Bonaly was robbed. I remember when media constantly used to comment on her body being too muscular
I really can’t watch any of these ice flip videos without thinking about how a white man is being rewarded for accomplishing what a Black woman was punished for doing 30 years ago

Surya Bonaly was an incredible athlete and she was treated like shit for it

Kendrick’s performance was about Black oppression while Bad Bunny’s was about American imperialism specifically in the Americas. I wonder if he mentioned the countries directly impacted by American hegemony
Bad Bunny’s performance, while grounded in the history of Puerto Rico, sought to do something different than Kendrick but aimed in the same general direction of liberation. Bad Bunny didn’t need the foil of “Uncle Sam” because he had a context of the decline of American empire as a backdrop.

From Patagonia to the Arctic Circle, covering Central America and the Caribbean, and ending with, "and my own homeland, Puerto Rico: we're still here" (in Spanish: "y mi patria, Puerto Rico: seguimos aquí")
Benito said "God Bless America," and then proceeded to name every country in South and North America.
