This book opens with little tiny child Alexandre Dumas picking up a rifle to kill God for taking his father and by the time you’re done you’ll feel the same. It won a Pulitzer for a reason! Very recommended

Funnily enough when I scrolled by someone's Monte Cristo skeet I IMMEDIATELY thought of Pushkin.
I'm not surprised this video exists because 20 yrs ago a problematic (yet egregiously funny) Russian coworker told me all about how Black her beloved Pushkin was. No "cookies," only love for the work.

Before i knew he was Black I saw a Monte Cristo film and could not shake the feeling that the MC should've been Black. I'd only ever seen that kind of jealousy & hatred up close. Then to learn it was based on his dad!
