The point of brainstorming and organizing your thoughts is making connections and thinking of other things as you do it, not just having the slop machine spit them back out at you. bsky.app/profile/kibb...
This also goes for *making* art. Telling the A.I. computer “Make a picture of [whatever]” eliminates the opportunity to make discoveries along the way.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste

This made me feel better about how stressed I've been even though we're "doing well" - justified in my anxiety. But it also made me feel even more anxious and angry, because I'm justified in feeling as stressed as I am, and there's not a lot I can do about it!

This made me feel better about how stressed I've been even though we're "doing well" - justified in my anxiety. But it also made me feel even more anxious and angry, because I'm justified in feeling as stressed as I am, and there's not a lot I can do about it!

Was in film school with grandiose ideas about being a director. Saw a class learning how to use these enormous, scary and complicated looking film cameras. Immediately decided I had to learn it. It was magic. Lighting was magic. Lenses were magic. Letting someone else direct actors was magic. 🎥

If you aren't seeing skeets from some of your fave people, they might have been labeled "Rude" by bsky mods. Idk what they are thinking, I don't need a mommy to tell me who to be buddies with. Anyway, go into Settings > moderation > bluesky moderation (advanced) and turn Rude off.
