OVER A MILLION USERS

DISCUSS SUICIDE WITH CHATGPT

EVERY *WEEK*

what the fuck are we DOING here
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.
I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

WOW. 81% of women 18-29 voted for Mamdani, 80% for Sherril, and 78% for Spanberger.

Gen Z women aren't playing around.

Also when we *checks notes* don’t exactly come together
Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

“Condé was content to hold Teen Vogue up as a prop for diversity, youth representation and progressive ideals when it benefited it, and then to unceremoniously discard the entire publication with a disingenuous press release when the winds shifted.”
if you want to know what happened to Teen Vogue yesterday, my work wife @allegrak.bsky.social — who ran our politics section for 6 years until this past June — said it all in this.

can't even pull out a favorite part til I sign my separation letter lol, just read the whole thing.

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!

Turn off Gemini in Google!
It's been turned on by default.

Go to your Drive, click the gear icon, click settings, go to "manage apps" and uncheck that nasty "use by default" box.

“I hate it here,” said flatly by the person next to me in line at a new to me [& my partner] Walgreens pharmacy when someone loudly farted.
do you ever have things that someone has said to you that live forever in your head (non-serious edition)? some older boomer hippie guy said “hahmmus gives you fahts” to me 26 years ago at a free fridge and i think of it every fucking single time i buy hummus to this day.

I hate when people say AI is "inevitable." no it's not. because despite what they keep trying to tell you, it is not sentient, it does not think. we can just... stop using it.
