“Inventing the Renaissance” is a history of histories of this (not so) golden age. Much of making history is simply adding new POVs to the braid as historians ask new & more diverse questions w/ each generation. I hope you’ll enjoy my effort to show the process at work! 25/25 https://buff.ly/4j6qkoS

Complete stab in the dark here. Does anyone have access to The St. Lucia Archaeological and Historical Society series? I'm desperately looking for a pamphlet in the series published by Charles Jesse in 1969 in the St. Lucia Miscellany issue. Only copy I can find is physical volume in Jamaica.

In 2006, roughly 30,000 saiga antelope remained across the grasslands of Central Asia. With anti-poaching patrols, cross-border coordination between governments, better law enforcement against horn trafficking by 2025, the population had climbed to nearly 4 million. buff.ly/TUIjm9R

Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.

Playing Loki in a LARP, I used theatrical scar makeup to make a rune-shaped scar on the spot where he traded blood with Odin when they became blood brothers. I’d used that makeup before without trouble, but this time my skin reacted & made a REAL scar which lasted 3 years.

My own fault, and yet. ❤️‍🔥
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

I’ve read so many equivalents of this from the World Wars. My history department chose its motto well:

“Don’t make me repeat myself.” — History.
This arrived today. It's a little booklet from the Polish government wth advice about how to prepare for it All Kicking Off, and what to do when it does.

Scholars, please cite yourselves when relevant! You are creating a body of work, a world even, and we want to know where all the pieces are, and how they fit together.
I saw a LinkedIn post making fun of senior scholars for citing themselves, but I've seen academics Columbus entire well developed fields of study and be applauded for it by the AHA, so...?
