Three months ago, my dear friend Hani was murdered while trying to feed his family.

His sister Faten has cancer, and sleeps in a freezing tent with her hands, feet, and eyes swelling more and more every day.

Screenshot of text reads as follows, in which I’ve highlighted the part about province-specific names for these weather systems: An Alberta Clipper is a type of low-pressure weather system that forms in Alberta or nearby, on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains. It is a fast-moving storm, hence the name "clipper," which refers to 19th-century ships known for their speed. Depending on the province where the system approaches the Canada-United States border, sometimes it is called a Saskatchewan Screamer, Manitoba Mauler or Ontario Scary-o. It may also be called a Canadian Clipper or simply a Clipper. Such storms mostly occur in December and January but are common in the fall and spring, too. They form about 5-20 times per season.

The 60 Mins segment is solid. The Weiss memo, with its demands to understand the legal rationale and find people who'll argue for the regime's authority, is sickening. And all of it just feels like the logical continuation/boomerang of Guantanamo Bay and Cheney talking about the "worst of the worst"
