I can tell this story is breaking through because people on Instagram who never post "political" stuff currently have their stories filled with content about Minnesota.

Always Rubicon.
Should I watch:

- Kill The Messenger (2014)

- Edge Of Darkness (the original BBC miniseries, not the crappy Mel Gibson remake)

- Rubicon (2010 AMC series)

Normal people when they see a statement they agree with around 80% of: "Yeah! Totally!"

Bsky users when they only agree with 99% of what you said: "First of all, kill yourself".

This is an article I keep coming back to with growing frustration, as I see so many of our mainstream outlets refusing to adapt to an authoritarian regime, and often capitulating to the regime. This particular quote from a Polish journalist strikes me as especially important today.

“At least 35 people died in ICE custody last year. That is not a failure of training. That is the manufacturing of premature death. And what we want is an end to that violence — however it’s dealt out, however it’s dressed up, however it’s defended.”
Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.

Your introspective question for the day:

How many disagreeable things do you see or hear in a day that you pass by and what determines if you do so?

This isn't intended as a sharing exercise as much as a personal contemplation. The answer sheds light on you as a person and how you manage conflict.

HMMMMM GUESS WHO WAS VINDICATED ONCE AGAIN
The main thing that’s bugging me about CIVIL WAR (2024) is its assumption that the big problem in journalism these days is “cold amorality in pursuit of The Scoop”

If only!!!!

A far more likely problem in a US civil war scenario is “fascists have easily bullied the press into submission”
