Karpiński built the device at the Polish Academy of Science's Institute of Automatics. AKAT-1 aimed to simulate various complex dynamic processes like thermodynamics, heat transfer or a shock absorber's mechanics.

when you boil it down what i ACTUALLY think is there should be some kind of non-work, non-baby thing that you can do which contributes equally to the ongoing human project. lotsa people cant have kids and it’d be nice for them to be able to take some time and do something noble for the species.
