A large part of the problem is this site is overall absolutely allergic to fun. I make a political post & it gets attention. I post about something fun, like music or a weird thing I see out and about and it's crickets because we must Always Be Paying Attention to the Horrors™️ or we go to hell.

The word 'howdy' dates back to the 1570s, but you only ever seem to hear it in American Westerns and whatnot.
Being that old, there should be British people saying it. Is there some neighborhood of London where they still say howdy? 17 villages in the East Midlands?

I made my own leather sandals!
(Actually I remade them. I made them a few months ago, but I broke a strap a couple weeks ago and just disassembled them and put them back together with new straps. This version looks better, actually)

Yes, it looks like shit, but I set all the settings to make it as least annoying as possible, and I've mostly forgotten that my computer looks different now

This fall, I planted a variety of squash in my little garden so I could experiment with cross pollinating them.
Tonight, I cut up a kabocha that a fertilized with butternut pollen. The squash will be dinner.
I'm saving these seeds for planting. I'm hoping there are interesting hybrids among them!
