As for individuals, my ask is the same as always: wear a well fitted respirator mask and get ALL your vaccines. Not sure if you have BOTH MMR doses? Ask your doctor or err on the side of caution and get another dose anyways.

We could see this coming.
Rather than ring the alarm bells, too many PH officials jumped on every opportunity to minimize this, even last month here in Ontario.

It is as if they think their job is to keep the public calm rather than to inform them.

Respirator mask in public is the most potent protection, clean the air and shots are mere add ons to that and they are not suitable standalone options whereas a mask is. Washing your hands is unrelated to protection from airborne pathogens so do it for unrelated reasons.

We might be in for a whopper of a flu season as the circulating strain changes from what's in the shot. Should you still get the shot and what protection it offers? Absolutely. But also wash your hands, stay home when sick, mask up and clean the air where you live/ work.

Masking works. My respirator has kept me free from Covid and flu for six years. 😷
