🧵that tells you a bit about how I think (👋 new followers). I used to review healthcare experiences gone wrong for a living. Research and critical thought inform my decisions but with the ever present reality I can be (and will be) wrong at times.
A really important snapshot of how we got to emergency department only care and how horrible that is for patients and emerg docs alike.

Respirator mask in public is the most potent protection, clean the air and shots are mere add ons to that and they are not suitable standalone options whereas a mask is. Washing your hands is unrelated to protection from airborne pathogens so do it for unrelated reasons.

We might be in for a whopper of a flu season as the circulating strain changes from what's in the shot. Should you still get the shot and what protection it offers? Absolutely. But also wash your hands, stay home when sick, mask up and clean the air where you live/ work.

The DRC out on its own doing public health for the benefit of us all while we sit here with shrugs from our health leaders in our ongoing SARS2-acquired immune deficiency syndrome spreading forever unchecked and our measles eradication lost after a quarter of a century. Well done us.

OPP reports 220 collisions in GTA on first snowy day of the season
In addition, there were another 120 incidents where vehicles were in the ditch or stuck and the OPP were not able to attend.

Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.
Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.
One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.
We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Really would like to know what people who think that preventing mass death and epidemics is “government overreach” believe government is FOR?? Parades??
Actually, the real problem in my humble opinion is that masks should be required in medical settings *year round* in *all* counties.
I mean... why should you be allowed to spread your germs to other people who are sick?

Universal Basic Income ( #UBI ) programs have been tried, tested and proven to save money and improve quality of life overall. If it was already in place in #Canada, the country would have been in a much better financial position to fight the nonsense from USA.

I absolutely loathe doing the faux obsequiousness just to navigate harried HCWs who are just doing their jobs in an utterly two-tier gross system for patients without GPs and the contracted HCWs alike. Looking at you NB eHealth after 4 hour wait.
