My daughter lost her best friend in HS to meningococcal meningitis. As a pedi RN we lost so many beautiful kids to this horrible disease. We celebrated the release of this life saving vaccine. I will never forgive the perpetrators of this crime.

There are a lot of people struggling and in need. People who have never asked for help before. Maybe exercise grace.

Good point from @markjacob.bsky.social, worth thinking through now:

"The media’s general deference to the US military’s need for operational secrecy is likely to be tested in coming months and years. After all, Trump is perverting the mission of the military far beyond legitimate national security"
“The press has to ask itself: Is it still in the public interest for journalists to keep secrets about Trump’s anti-democratic use of the military?”
My free Stop the Presses newsletter.
Will the press continue to keep Trump’s military secrets?
The goal is protecting the troops, but secrecy can also protect criminality

A person who took me in when I was homeless is now behind on rent herself. She's had a hella year -- 3 kids, single mom, going through an ugly divorce. She owes $1400 in rent and has $200 on hand.

Just the interaction helps -- so many people are struggling right now, and for those not struggling, they need to see this.

This is why it is very upsetting when the Dutch gov says we are spending billions on healthcare and need to make cuts, when people with lyme disease cant even get antibiotics, people with ME/CFS dont get any help, and elderly people are left to die in literal shit.
Money aint going to care.
I did billing and insurance followup for many years. This is spot-on.
It's because we're largely not paying for healthcare. To a very large degree we're paying for middlemen whose business is limiting our access to healthcare. We're supporting a huge industry whose entire business model is getting us to pay for care we don't get.

Well, it seems you've been so busy watching our circus you seem to have missed your ultra-conservative issues in your own backyard. Have you already forgotten the Freedom Convoy? Are you in an echo chamber and just not seeing the chatter out west? I sure have.
