🎄 Holiday Reminder: The best gift we can give kids is clean air.
Winter brings joy but also higher pollution from fireplaces, traffic & cold weather. Kids breathe more and absorb more.

Let’s protect their health this season.

I'm #oneofthetwo that Jon Stewart from @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social mocked for still wearing a mask in public places in 2025. I guess he's never heard of immunocompromised people like me... or disabled people like my wife... or people with #LongCovid... or people who simply care about others...

#oneofthetwo. My sister, @harttandsoul.bsky.social , had eye surgery this morning. We were the only 2 wearing masks in waiting room, but we were #twoofthetwo.
Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

I wonder if Jon Stewart is going to have the same amount of trouble with insect repellent as the vector borne diseases spread. Any “funny” jokes about mosquito netting? What about hand washing. There’s always two people at the sink doing that.

Spouse and I respirator mask everywhere indoors outside of our home. We masked before entering our home because while away, renos took place. Infectious diseases are airborne and sit in the air like cigarette smoke.

I'm afraid H5N1 is gonna hit hard at humans at any moment henceforth. Unprepared (unmasked, crowded, unventilated and unfiltered-air spaces) people will spread it like wildfire.

If you are still a sensible person, wear a respirator (kn95, n95, ffp2, ffp3) in public spaces, avoid crowds, ventilate.

I'm old enough to remember when smoking around others was socially acceptable, in restaurants, bars, workplaces etc. Secondhand smoke was everywhere.

We changed norms once we accepted that shared air = shared risk.

Dear Jon Stewart,

No one randomly owes you information about their health, their loved one’s health, or, understandably, just wanting to avoid Covid, which is the only way to prevent Long Covid.
