When Jewish left wing politicians/academics link their politics to their Jewish identity it's "dining out on his Jewish heritage". When Jewish right wing politicians/academics do it it's authenticity and elevates their positionality.
I suspect that David Hirsh has had enough of Zack Polanski dining out on his Jewish heritage while having largely removed himself from the community. John Mann is perfectly capable of recognising antisemitism, and he is a respected friend of the Jewish community.
