Just had to run out into the garden to break up a nasty fight between two cats (I do not own a cat), slipping in a patch of wet mud and absolutely ruining a good pair of slippers in the process. Happy Tuesday.

The Kin-chan Jump 🤼

Brought to Japan by numerous luchadors such as Super Astro, Kendo and Kato Kung Lee for Gran Hamada's UWF, it was used primarily to confuse opponents. Fans dubbed it the 'Kin-chan Jump', due to its similarity to a mannerism of popular comedian Kinichi Hagimoto.

Genuinely, this is why I can't fall in line with the "US politics is pro-wrestling" argument that has proliferated since Trump's first campaign. These people aren't heels, they don't relish being booed, they have the narcissist's desperate, pathetic need to be adored.
missed opportunity for Vance, not working the booing crowd like a wrestling heel.

Attention wrestling promoters of all sizes: Yes, social media is free/cheap and potentially reaches new fans. But please make the minimal effort needed for an up-to-date website that tells me:

* What shows you have booked.
* The venue & start time.
* The wrestlers/matches.
* How to get tickets.

I have looked up, trained under, and learned from a lot of people in wrestling over the last 15 or so years whom I regret ever giving the time of day to. But Bryce Remsburg is a mensch, and TV wrestling is better for him being a part of it. Fuck ICE.

A lot of essays (many of them very good) have been written trying to explain why people love wrestling to non-wrestling fans but I think The Mountain Goats' "The Legend of Chavo Guerrero" still does the best job of selling the magic. 🤼‍♂️

Dynamite opening up with a run of backstage promos is a nice change of pace from the in-ring bickering of recent months, & it's nice to have a brief tour of the backstage areas of the venue, but maybe don't film hated rivals doing their promos in front of the same artwork one after the other.

what are the rules on inactivity, particularly concerning verified accounts, on various social media platforms?

I'm sure there's nothing so cynically mechanical in why disgraced authors might start posting again after 75 days of silence, but just a thought.

The problem with pointing out Epstein's connections to, and potential funding of, European far-right movements is the same as the problem of implying Russian involvement in Trump's election. We all believe ourselves immune to propaganda. Every Trump voter will say, "no Russian told me how to vote".

I don't believe in ghosts, but even the slightest hint of a fraction of a doubt about that would be enough to make me think that of all the people I would least like to piss off from beyond the grave and end up being haunted by, Orson Welles would be pretty high on the list.
In 1942, RKO slashed 43 minutes from Orson Welles's "The Magnificent Ambersons" and slapped on a happy ending. Now, an A.I. company wants to restore what was lost. Are they righting a historic wrong or descrating a classic? My deep dive, in this week's New Yorker. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...
