Right. If you say anything at all about how utterly shit and reactionary Labour are right now, you are guaranteed to get some smug shiny-brained dickhead popping up to tell you you're enabling Reform. And here's the thing.

Can you confirm @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social whether Labour's ban on 'nudification' apps will extend to Grok, please?

This to me seems significantly worse than eg the Salisbury thing from Jez Corbs that was apparently an intolerable surrender.
Starmer asked to respond to Trump breaking international law and seizing the leader of another sovereign nation replies that it is his "responsibility" to have a good relationship with the US President.

"I have stepped up that responsibility [and] I do get on with President Trump," he tells the BBC

i don't want to wake up to any news bigger than "raccoon breaks into a liquor store, gets drunk" anymore

I suppose you can see a positive in Starmer being straight out of the traps with "we weren't involved". It does at least suggest an awareness of how out involvement would be received by the public, as about the one thing he could do to tank his popularity further.

Also all the other groups still get mad when we point this out.

My "not involved in the strikes on Venezuela" T-shirt is raising a lot of questions already answered by my T-shirt.

I think you can be under no illusions about the last few decades of US foreign policy and still be alarmed at "we will bomb you on a whisper of a pretext with no attempt at public consent or congressional oversight, then kidnap your leader and haul him before a presumably kangaroo court".

Buckle up cos we're in for a truly epic round of equivocation, prevarication & nuancing the fuck out of this illegal action from Britain's pundits
BREAKING: Keir Starmer says he needs to "establish all the facts" before commenting on the capturing of Venezuela's President by the US

"What I can say is that the UK was not involved in any way in this operation"
January 3, 2026 at 12:48 PM
I understand the impulse to say "Maduro is bad as well" but that's transparently not and never has been the criteria that determines who's getting bombed so all it really serves is to provide ambiguity where there isn't any.

Wait, am I waking up to learn the US has essentially carried out a coup in Venezuela without even the courtesy of a CIA-funded front organisation?

Can anyone explain why a man who was sacked, just a few months ago, for sending messages like these, is now being treated as some kind of all-seeing political sage?

Describing Charlie Kirk as "not doing well" is a masterful bit of understatement, though.
how are we defining “good” here 🤔

I'm trying to find a way to put it that doesn't minimalise the actual harm caused, but it is sort of funny to imagine a circumstance in which Elon causes a load of the flag shaggers and racists still using X to get rounded up for sex crimes that they didn't actually intend to commit.

This is quite an important point; if you are a UK citizen with Twitter on your phone, opening it up is like playing Russian roulette that the algorithm might commit a strict liability offence on your behalf.
Has everyone whose scroll the illegal image appeared on also committed an offence by downloading it? This is one of those AI worst case scenarios that ought to make everyone aware of the current direction of travel.
