Right. If you say anything at all about how utterly shit and reactionary Labour are right now, you are guaranteed to get some smug shiny-brained dickhead popping up to tell you you're enabling Reform. And here's the thing.
The Epstein emails have really taken the fun out of lower-case posting.

This genuinely great news is going to be drowned out by HMG incompetence on tax announcements. Top work.
On 1 May 2026, we will abolish Section 21 ‘no-fault’ evictions when we switch on the new private rented sector tenancy system.

But think of the positives. You get all the popularity that comes with announcing an income tax rise, all the credibility that comes with a screeching U-turn, and all the revenue that comes with tinkering with the cycle to work scheme, all rolled into one.

I dunno, I don't think you can really spend ages giving gushing interviews about how shit-hot the PM's chief of staff is, calling him the "Morganiser" and so on, then stick your hands in your pockets, stare and the ceiling and act like it's a mystery when someone asks who's doing all this briefing.

Circa 1999 there was a band I heard on a Fierce Panda compilation, Pop Threat, that I very much liked and who basically exploded on the runway, but that I still listen to now and then. Idly chatting with the dad of my kid's best friend about his band, I learn that two of them were in Pop Threat.

As I have long since given up on good things happening, I will settle for very, very funny things.
Just imagine the Krakatoa of enraged, flailing bullshit we would get, if it looked like Ed was going to thrash Streeting in a leadership election.

To the establishment the tragedy seems to be that a mother lost her child far far more than a trans girl lost her life and everything that’s followed has been about suring up the ownership and control parents have over their children
Yknow thinking more about MPs championing the no phones in schools thing in Brianna Ghey’s name just how arrogant you gotta be as a cis person not to wonder where all the trans people endorsing your project are at named after a girl murdered for being trans

I've often thought that the best revenge for all this fashy misery would be affordable social housing, workers rights, a functional health service, sustainable energy and all the other good stuff they apparently hate. But I do keep glancing thoughtfully at lampposts.
With genuine shame, recent years in politics have given me my first taste for what it is to have moralised contempt for my opponents. Not hatred, not fear; contempt. There's some core element of the right wing coalition at the moment which seems to me best described as a revolt of the loser men...

One key date in all these files is June 30, 2008. That was the day after cutting a deal with future Trump Labor Secretarty Alex Acosta, that Epstein went into a court room and pled guilty.

Every correspondent after that knew they were speaking with a convicted child rapist. Every one of them.

I *love* “My God man there’s bears in it” but I’m not sure it would have improved the poem.

This is at least partly because I’m hearing it in the voice of Dr McCoy.

Every office has an executive tier whose emails are like:

and a worker tier whose emails are like:

Dear Jim,
First of all, I *love* this idea! Unfortunately, I spoke with Legal and identified a few issues with this approach. For starters…
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.

he’s a provider of access to money, connections and beautiful women and girls — everything that these people need to affirm their own status. being rich and powerful is a grift which requires other to bolster & buy in. That’s the service Epstein provided.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

"stuff that was common knowledge to journalists that they somehow declined to mention" is depressingly familiar to the British reader.
Can we circle back to the part where the NY Times never disclosed that they have incriminating information on Donald Trump from sent by Epstein that's been sitting on their email servers for nearly a decade?
Stuff like this makes me wonder why there hasn't been any reporting about Trump having affairs during his presidencies
