I really think at its heart philosophy is one giant battle, taking place over many eras and nations, between people who are basically pleasant bureaucrats and people who are sexy murder poets, and it’s both super important and super boring that the pleasant bureaucrats must win.

Again: notice how, even though my own politics are fairly wacky, I do not have to talk about the difficulties they cause me in family and social life? Do you think I don’t have problems with this, because nobody I know ever talks about politics

I think this one is lovely as a way into the fanlore setting if you're familiar with 40k but haven't read any of the Sherden Pact stories before. So if you know 40k stuff but have been unwilling to jump into a bunch of random fanfic stuff check this one out and see if you find the ideas interesting!

One of the many reasons Know No Fear is my favourite Warhammer boon is that it shows that worshiping Chaos sucks for the Word Bearers- Gulliman sees them as miserable cynical murderers even before shot goes south.
The Word Bearers were into Chaos before anybody else, and they never want anyone to forget it.

the burgeoning Hallmark Abundance genre
I don’t always agree with of the broader political takes from some “abundance”-coded pundits but man the abundance critics are just pure nonsense merchants

like, what’s this guy’s deal? literally making up a guy to dunk on the idea that cities should build more housing and transit.

We can be more blunt than this: it was 2016-19, when all the lads in politics and press decided literally anything was justifiable, in the name of restoring the status quo. And we have basically been in a state of exception from 2001, so this is just formally acknowledging reality.
Did 2025 mark the end of British parliamentary democracy as we know it? | Andy Beckett
