I mean it’s going to be fascinating to see how it plays out if “leftwing solutions don’t work [when America forcibly prevents them]” is tested overly in the largest city in the homeland rather than with semi-plausible deniability in other countries
What's fascinating is the way his behaviour is reported as if it's not unhinged. This isn't normal and it's 100% against the interests of his citizens, and he makes no secret of this either. It's fueled by hate, not politics

AI models may be developing their own ‘survival drive’, researchers say
Like 2001: A Space Odyssey’s HAL 9000, some AIs seem to resist being turned off and will even sabotage shutdown
When HAL 9000, the artificial intelligence supercomputer in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, works out that the astronauts onboard a mission to Jupiter are planning to shut it down, it plots to kill them in an attempt to survive.
Now, in a somewhat less deadly case (so far) of life imitating art, an AI safety research company has said that AI models may be developing their own “survival drive”. Continue reading...

This week, Tim explains that Reform fare badly head to head nationally against a strong establishment party, but will pick up Tories if they can say Labour will need the Greens, Plaid & SNP to govern, like in 2015. There’s not much to be done about it, but it’s interesting to hear the thinking.

Idk man, the Tories getting 2% suggests there was some pretty strong tactical voting to get Reform in, too
Plaid Cymru won the Caerphilly by-election overnight, with Reform pushing Labour into a distant third.
Plaid got 47% of the vote on a record turnout, suggesting to me that there was some tactical voting to keep Reform out, which won 36%.
A factor that could be underpriced in a general election.

Yeah, the examples political hacks use to show Reform has “professionalised” and “detoxified” have a lot in common with tech hacks breathlessly reporting that ChatGPT can somewhat accurately plan a city break itinerary if you give it the right prompt

She is clear she wants lots of legal migrants to be told to "go home" so as "to leave a mostly but not entirely culturally coherent group of people"

Afaics from Zack’s account of the Sun story, it’s straightforwardly, obviously libellous to say he made money out of it. I mean maybe he’s lying, but somebody needs to do the work to prove it if so.
It is So Interesting how the hacks long for scrutiny of political leaders, and also have absolutely no interest in the half dozen times Polanski’s been asked about the Sun hypnosis thing. Like you can say you don’t buy the answer, but it’s wild to keep implying it hasn’t been addressed yet
