Copywriter, mother, wife & whiner. You can find my work nowhere because I’m on mat leave.
I saw everyone saying, “Hey the Neil Gaiman expose is really harrowing”, so naturally I shrugged those warnings off.

And, uh… however bad I thought it would be, it’s much, much worse.

Sending love to all of his survivors — particularly the ones who still struggle to think of themselves that way.

Here's the thing about the Blake Lively drama. I think it's something many women who've worked in male-dominated fields can relate to.

Blake lively is probably not perfect. She probably has flaws. Maybe she spoiled. Maybe she's a bully. Maybe she's tough to work with.

I’m ambivalent about the nurse Hannah drama as a whole but my word some people better prepare to lawyer up if they want to make these kinds of accusations without hard proof

"Across Texas, residency applications in ob-gyn dropped significantly. Data from the Gender Equity Policy Institute revealed a fifty-six-per-cent spike in maternal deaths in the state between 2019 and 2022."

If you pay for a NYT subscription, drop that and support Katelyn—who does incredible journalistic work—instead. If you don’t pay for NYT and you can afford it, support Katelyn too!
Ok, I have 699 paid members of my patreon right now. My goal is to get to 850 by the end of the year. This would allow me to cover my rent and car payments with Patreon.

I'd appreciate your support. <3
I don't promote it as often as i probably should but I have a Patreon that I depend on to pay my rent and I would love to grow it enough to cover another large monthly bill.

Without it, I could not be a professional writer full time. Would love any vouches or reskeets <3

What specifically bugs me about students using AI to cheat is how uncreative it is at being lazy. I got through four years of English class never reading a single book, and I didn't need AI for that. You need to practice your bullshitting at an early age if you want to thrive as a lazy adult.

“a better future isn’t possible” is explicitly a right wing view and everyone needs to do a better job rejecting it for themselves and drumming it out of younger people
IME every time I bring this up with young/young-ish people I get some variation on “lol I won’t live that long climate change will take me out before I’m 50” & it’s yet another example of how blackpilling throws sand in the gears of even trying to get anything done now.

R/daddit drama: OP agreed to a light show for his son’s first xmas, then realized it clashed with a game he wanted to watch.

Asked if he could ditch the light show and prefaced the question with “my wife had PPA when I agreed but now she’s better”.

Threw a fit because everyone said “no”.

Ben Mulroney is one of Canada's finest failsons. Dad was a shit prime minister in the 80's. Nepos himself a media/hosting career. I once watched him on a red carpet reverse position the microphone everytime he and the celeb started talking...so no one ever talked into the mic.
WTF is this???

There’s a WHAT
Netflix is so wild to me. There’s a first rate production of August Wilson’s “The Piano Lesson” starring Samuel L. Jackson, Danielle Deadwyler and John David Washington and I only know about it because of a post on BlueSky.

Like, I’m watching it now while reading along and it’s BRILLIANT.

Yeah, unfriendly reminder that “ironic” transphobia is still transphobia. Same with homophobia, so knock it off with the Trump and Putin are boyfriends jokes
Is there something about MTG that just makes resist libs go feral with violent transphobia? Because genuinely the shit they say about her is by far the most extreme and open transphobia I see from them, and it’s basically underneath any popular post about her or something she said.

Periodic reminder: a lot of what makes AI "work" is exploited people doing the tasks, just hidden behind fancy websites.

It's good that a normie outlet like 60 Minutes is reporting on this.

what’s stunning to me is the reaction from rightwingers experiencing actual moderation on bsky. they don’t seem to realize how aggressively extreme their own rhetoric has gotten. these are like, facebook grampas posting memes that a decade ago you’d only find in the nazi edgelord parts of 4chan.

It’s a movie quite literally based on eugenic beliefs and it sucks.
2014: the movie Idiocracy is basically a documentary

2024: the movie Idiocracy is a beautiful and aspirational look at a future brighter than our own. a tantalizing glimpse into a better world that has already slipped from our fingertips.
