seems like maybe some folks could bear to be reminded that if you see a person with a lot of followers and you treat them like they are a brand or institution instead of a person - whether they encourage that or not - that is a toxic parasocial dynamic you need to stop.

i feel like if you go to the vet and at the end it turns out you have to put your pet down, you shouldn’t have to pay for the euthanasia. all the other stuff, sure. but paying someone to kill your friend is kinda messed up.

a vet tech at the hospital i’m euthanizing my cat at just said, loudly enough for all to hear in response to some unknown prompting from another tech, that she used to live in venezuela and can say with confidence that everyone is feeling “quite liberated”

my cat, freddie mercury, suddenly dropped weight and was dehydrated. i figured stress or obstruction, since he likes to chew on plastic. loved up on him for the day & noticed he was getting more lethargic. next day (today) i noticed he was breathing kind of heavy. decided to bring him to er vet.
