In addition to the selfish desire for me to be able to feed myself and my family, the other thing that really scared me was the possibility of a major air disaster. I don't care who would've been "blamed" for it. It's a tragedy that I hope we avoided.

I am not defending Chuck Schumer, but I do think it is slightly more reasonable than we give credit to say that we cannot allow starving Americans, withholding their pay, and compromising their safety to become the way we do policy here. Saying “we were winning!” - no one wins when kids go hungry.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

I have a new instant pot and it doesn’t look exactly like my old instant pot so I sometimes look at it and then just decide best not to risk it

I am not going to participate in the question of whether women belong at work in a country where the job market and wages are so shitty I’m frankly wondering if our family needs a THIRD income

When I think about the things that have reorganized my brain on a molecular level the most salient is returning to work just 4 weeks after a c-section, not even medically cleared, with no daycares even being willing to accept a baby that young

I am on a mission this holiday season to embrace non-aesthetic, non-curated moments. We are not decanting groc store baked goods into a fancy plate. We are mismatching ornaments. We are using whatever wrapping paper. We are putting up the tacky decor that doesn’t coordinate. There is a photo I can’t

I have a major pet peeve of child centric programming starting late - it is so hard to keep them calmly occupied in a seat while waiting, I genuinely don’t care if people who are running late miss a little bit?

I recorded about 10 ordinary seconds of my 3 and 4yos trick or treating. They say it goes by so fast. I don’t really think so yet, but just in case it does - I have a video of me holding a dinosaur’s hand, one whose treat basket was heavy but who wanted to walk anyway. 🙏🏼🫶🏼
