The book I’m writing is titled HOME OUT THERE. It’s about black queer people leaving home to find home. I weave my own experiences with biographical chapters about three black queer poet ancestors: Langston Hughes, Pauli Murray and Audre Lorde.

I’m several episodes into the first season of #TheDeuce and I’m riveted. Yes, it’s about sex work and Times Square in the 1970s, but it’s really about labor. It’s dense, wild and full of great performances and actors.

I opened the window and popped my head out to look up at the supermoon and ended up having a whole conversation with some neighbors celebrating a birthday on the rooftop across the alley way, lol. I toasted the birthday girl. I love Cambridge.

I have a bad habit of forgetting to sell my poetry collections.

My newest chapbook, Tricks, is available here and comes with a trigger warning: it is highly gay and should not be read by anyone who may not be prone to frequent arousal.

I’m screaming, I know Trump answered the phone today when Zohran called and was like, “omg, hey habibi 😍.” Meanwhile Schumer and Jeffries are probably hiding in their “vote blue, no matter who”-themed bunkers.
Zohran Mamdani, the new mayor of New York City, called President Trump on Saturday to personally object to strikes the U.S. had conducted in Venezuela and to the capture of its leader, Nicolás Maduro. Mamdani accused Trump of violating international law.

I’ve got so much writing done today, I could cry. I’m so proud of this work. Joyful rigor. I’ve got five books opened at the same time to check for accuracy and when I couldn’t find my phone I realized I’d stuck it in one of them as a bookmark. Using a giant piece of topaz as another bookmark.
WELP, I guess I’m awake now. Time to
make some tea, read more of BALDWIN: A LOVE STORY by Nicholas Boggs which is just incredible, btw and then get back to writing.

I’ll keep an eye on Trump’s moves, but I will not give my day over to him. He doesn’t get to plan my heart’s agenda.
