Noticed this when I was reading 1984 as a kid. When I first read it I was 11 and I was like "oh my god communism really is scary..." and then I read it again in highschool and it seemed obvious that Oceania was just fascist. Orwell was way too libbed up.

I’m gonna refine this a bit and say there are some cases where customer facing changes need to be put on hold during holidays (due to customer impact / change adjustment effort if it’s a critical time for them).
But internally? The only reasons internally are bad ones that need to be fixed.

I retired in March, but today's React vuln should remind everyone that @charity.wtf has always been right: if you have a holiday code freeze, your build-test-deploy-rollback process is completely broken and you should not work on anything else until that's fixed.
