Day 5, #HackerFit 28 day challenge. Failed to record yesterday's HIIT session but it was a killer- so today was an easy 35 minutes on the trainer. Barely broke 100 BPM but recovery days are super important...

Those who fail to learn from John Lott…
Alex Massie trumped up a fake campaign in the times to claim hundreds of rape convictions for women in the justice system were actually trans women despite the numbers covering several hundred more convictions than there are trans women in prison for any crime.
To understand how much Alex Massie actually cares about women's safety: when I called out his transphobe-in-arms Nick Cohen for multiple acts of sexual misconduct against cis women, which eventually got him sacked, Massie went berserk at me.

Transphobia is a men's rights movement in drag.

I'm probably (definitely) olde and out of touch but: who the hell has a picture of themself on their lock screen? Good lord.
Sveum and Vazquez, alongside other BORTAC agents, showed up in reports and body cam footage released by a federal judge in November.

We were able to further confirm Michael Sveum's identity because one of those videos includes his phone lockscreen with a photo of himself at an ultrarunning event.

The number one debugging technique most teams rely on after an alert goes off is, "Who wrote that code? Who shipped that diff? Find that person so they can explain what is happening."

What happens when no one has that deep knowledge? What happens when code must be understood from first principles?

Inspired by @alyssam-infosec.com I am reminded that I'm just stupidly out of shape and haven't been on the bike more than a dozen times since El Tour de Tucson. That stops today. 4 week #HackerFit challenge, starting with an easy warmup.

ICE is upset that ICE isn't welcome in restaurants after ICE ordered food at a restaurant, ate it, then arrested restaurant employees, and ICE believes this is someone else's fault, do I have that right?

If the American Revolution had had a slogan, it would have been "Get your fucking soldiers out of our cities."

I worked in IT operations for 40 years and here's the truth:

Any system that deletes two weeks of data due to a "crash" was deliberately designed to do that.
And what is happening inside ICE detention centers? 404 Media also learned that the federal government claimed that the day after it was sued for allegedly abusing detainees at an ICE detention center, a “system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility.
ICE Says Critical Evidence In Abuse Case Was Lost In 'System Crash' a Day After It Was Sued
The government also said "we don't have resources" to retain all footage and that plaintiffs could supply "endless hard drives that we could save things to."

It’s no comfort, but the official DHS line being “he can be killed by masked agents of the state because he had a legal gun” is such an interesting new frontier in how Trump has made the conservative movement very publicly and embarrassingly abandon every principal it once claimed.

You know how, at some grocery stores, you get a little sample of food — like, just a tiny taste on a toothpick that makes you think “woah, I’d sure like a lot more of whatever this is!”?

I've been mostly offline today and I saw Erik Von Daniken died. He was a virulent racist and bigot and a convicted felon, and his alien archaeology "theories"
did incalculable harm to the field of archaeology. Those are his legacies.
