"A friend left a party at 9:30 on a Saturday"

"I am going to spend more time with my kids"

(Agents may not be your problem, my dude.)
for me, i think it probably looks less lame

1. go for more walks, but check on my agents
2. go to more kid events, but checking on my agents

but for these 20 yr olds who haven’t hit burnout, i can imagine how dark it might feel

And the AI boosters say they’re going to take everyone‘s job! Not with this level of productivity boost you’re not!
Token Anxiety

i think i mostly echo this for myself. with so much that can be done, i often feel like i *should* be doing something, always

A former Democratic colleague of hers once told me that Susan Collins is “usually there when you don’t need her and never there when you actually do.” The moderate brand she projects is entirely performative. It’s always surprised me that Maine voters don’t seem to care.
Thirty years of concern. Never enough courage.

I work in procurement and our vendors have been rolling out AI systems and... it has been a disaster. The AI gets everything wrong and I have to navigate a labyrinthian telephone menu to get to a human to fix it.

This has big "We'll colonize the moon in 10 years!" Musk energy.

Yeah, hi, I’m a person with “mobility challenges” (excuse me while I hurl). What we want, by and large, are not expensive, heavy devices that will “help us walk again”, but ramps.

I know, it’s not sexy, as technology invented before Christ, but it is overlooked in favor of…this. Repeatedly.

Gracie’s Ice Cream is the best
Come in to Gracie’s on Valentine’s Day with your Valentine to get a free button, or come in alone to get two buttons as a reminder that our ice cream is as cold as your ex’s heart. You’re better off without them.

Apparently Utrecht's bus system is falling apart.

Made the decision to switch from diesel to all electric.

Failed to:
- install enough chargers.
- buy enough buses for added downtime.

In Dutch tradition, 1/5 drivers are now burnt out from the stress from the change.

An avgeek with some coding talent and a consuming interest in United Airlines developed and published the Blue Board, a real-time dashboard of UA ops around the world. This is amazing!

(Reddit thread in which "PasadenaOwl" announced it: www.reddit.com/r/unitedairl...)
The Blue Board — Live United Airlines Flight Tracker & Delay Alerts
Real-time United Airlines dashboard — track every flight, check delays at all 7 hubs, see if your plane has Starlink WiFi, and monitor weather disruptions. Free and updated every 30 seconds.

Just had a lightbulb moment: the reason drivers in South Williamsburg are so bad is that Hasidic women are not allowed to drive. It’s probably entirely a gender composition effect.

I complained to the city of Cambridge about the uncleared 66/86 bus stop in Harvard Square and it got cleared. A bit.

But buses still can’t pull to the curb so disabled riders still can’t board.

If this upper air profile verifies for next week there will be some *speedy* transcons LAX/SAN-IAD (and westbounds will be able to go a bit north and avoid the jet entirely).
