As a former sex crimes & CSAM prosecutor, when I see a person acting out in outlandish sexual ways starting in their teen years and continuing for decades who persist in behavior that is clearly causing them harm, I strongly suspect that they were sexually abused as a child.

My take on this: as powerful as “the oligarchy” or “the deep state” might be the eyes of some, it really is Congress and SCOTUS which constrain the President. And they still can. SCOTUS reform can only happen post-Trump, but the Dems can retake Congress and curtail abuses.

A good way to approach this question is to ask if other countries have suburbs
we need to put to rest the idea that the mass suburbanization of the US was inevitably natural, and admit that americans only seek out this lifestyle because the US has heavily subsidized it over the last century to attainability for a sizeable population, to the benefit of certain industries.
Right, this is true, but the OVERWHELMING evidence of the past 100 years of American life is that vastly more people want space and a car than a smaller unit and a car-free lifestyle. This is mostly why the suburban share of US population has grown relentlessly for the entire 20th and 21st century

Honestly Starmer’s government looks even worse when you consider what a much weaker Democratic Congress did from 2021-2023
