so much of the dirtbag left just turned out to be a revolt against republican virtue. really just virtue in general, which explains red scare
okay but like the burden is literally on us

honestly mob bookies handled this more responsibly
"Legalize sports betting to get it out of the hands of criminals" did not require allowing phone apps to advertise about a dozen lopsided mid-game bets you were able to make.

also the fact that the largest single faction of actually existing Hawaiian independence activists are monarchists who want to turn Hawaii back into Brutal Pineapple Dubai, which is what it was before independence. the actually existing descendant of the Hawaiian communists is the Hawaiian Democrats
my favorite part of the Hawaii independence dead enders is that they are also almost universally anti-tourism

and it’s like, you realize that as an independent country Hawaii would have to be *even more reliant on tourism* to sustain its economy and standard of living
OH YEA PUERTO RICO STATEHOOD DISCOURSE IS BACK

BRING BACK HAWAI’I INDEPENDENCE BY WHITE PEOPLE NEXT

i think that you can't imprison ten million people using twenty thousand people
Yes. Miller knows those people can't all be deported. He knows they will be in camps. We need to understand: many, many people in Trump's circle read about the Nazis, openly admire Hitler, and want to emulate what Hitler did. We have to accept how serious this is - we cannot hide from it.
Dear all saying no worries, Trump can't round up 10M immigrants because their work is needed for the US economy: please, remember that MOST of the camps in Germany from 1938 were "Arbeitslager" - labor camps. Deporting people is hard. But locking people up and making them work, that's been done. 1/

I am struggling to think of any country this describes that doesn’t *also* let homeless people die on the street.
I've been to some countries where people live under military rule or autocracy. And without fail, one of the questions I get when they ask about life in the U.S. is whether it's true that Americans just let homeless people die on the street.
During freezing temperatures in Port Arthur, Texas, a 61-year-old homeless man was found dead in his wheelchair outside a convenience store.

He was wearing a hospital gown and no shoes. Authorities say he had been released from a hospital the previous day.

This is a diseased society.

the purpose of shit like this is to kill people who didn't vote for him. blue states are conquered territory, not fellow citizens.
The Trump administration plans to rescind $600 million in public health funds from four states led by Democrats because it finds the grants “inconsistent with agency priorities,” according to documents reviewed by the NYT

Keep him!

Anthropic and Google now seem to get that the primary value people get out of AI is doing annoying work they don't want to do (coding, basic research, drafting emails, etc), OpenAI/XAI/Meta seem to still think image/video slop and search replacement are the future

one thing the Democrats are kind of sleeping on is the subpoena power of state legislatures combined with the fact that virtually all of the conduct described by the Epstein files occurred in blue states

Hey, my name is in the Epstein files! I've told the story before, but should probably re-up.

TLDR: never met the guy, never took (or asked for) any money from him, never visited the island. I was invited to the island, and said no.

It's not that hard to just say no.

The most coherent narrative across their media is that they only believed they were victimized and hated before and now that the majority of the country openly and comfortably hates their fucking guts, they are terrified to their core.

The republican faction that has most opposed Trump is neocons. Other factions like business execs or religious conservatives have reasons for, and examples of, opposition to Trump, but Libertarians had the easiest case and the weakest examples. Total frauds, still preoccupied with campus left.
Weird. I tried to warn libertarians about Trump

It was not until I moved to Illinois for college that it ever even occurred to me that an American could find hearing Spanish in public to be unusual. There's a quarter of this country, at least, where Spanish is—and has always been—part of the soundtrack of life, even for those who don't speak it.
Just want to point out a serious regionalism that still divides this country, which is that a lot of white people who grew up in the Eastern time zone have extra special fear and terror about Spanish. Alex, Megyn, and Matt are NJ, NY, and MD respectively.

Honestly, it has to be a weird time to be a figure in pop culture due the president being Literally The Worst. Like, Elmo can say sharing is good and somebody in his X mentions will say “Elmo, you rotten son of a bitch. This goes against everything President Trump stands for.” And that’s not wrong.
