“mass deportation” trauma from this era is going to be a scar that’s with us for a long time
“With immigration agents under intense pressure to deport thousands of people each day, Ms. Lopez was pushed through the system swiftly and was deported within four days of the factory raid.
As a result, Jorge is now cared for by two siblings who are barely adults themselves.”

Congrats and thanks to @aaup.org —this is a big victory that will help protect universities across the country.
BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!

We were granted our preliminary injunction! @aaup.org

one reason you don’t want people to know they’re the target of a federal criminal investigation is that in trump’s america, that likely entitles you to $50 million (depending on who you vote for)
This is a better answer than I gave on The Source to @kaitlancollins.bsky.social last night.

“president trump ordered action—and the department of war is delivering” sounds like trump just asked pete to start a war and start killing people somewhere for the sake of starting war
Pete Hegseth announces Operation Southern Spear.

There doesn’t seem to be reporting yet on what this means. But I assume it’s not good.

A huge part of our current problem is that the wealthy and powerful in America believe that they can do whatever they want and never face legal consequences.

And they believe this because of the decades of evidence proving it accurate!
Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

This may be Trump's perfect social media post. A true work of art. He confirms:

✅He personally directs criminal investigations.
✅He is targeting opponents.
✅Epstein "records" exist and he knows the contents.

Bonus points for connecting it to investigation of his fondness for Putin.👀

darkly funny to consider the extent to which Cheryl Hines—once a minor Hollywood star with a superficial environmental bent and a dream role on a beloved sitcom—has transformed into a self-promoting Trumpworld grifter
Cheryl Hines—who has mostly steered clear of RFK’s antivaxx world—headlined a weekend gala for Children’s Health Defense. At the private party, which I watched from the back of the room, she praised CHD and hawked her book— proceeds which were promised to CHD. www.msnbc.com/news/news-an...
Does Cheryl Hines share husband RFK Jr.’s vaccine views? Now we know the answer.
The actress finally steps out as first lady of the anti-vaccine movement.

I feel like a whole lot of people in this thread have not been on the receiving end of the linguistic loopholes the far right employs to publicly harass and threaten trans kids, teachers, Jewish people, ethnic minorities, etc and are like “hey we should get to be clever like that too”

Prisons shouldn't be abolished, but they should be used to rehabilitate people unlikely to reoffend (with short sentences) and only to warehouse the sociopaths among us (irrespective of whether it's violent or non-violent crime).

The system we have is just a way to cage minorities and poor people.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
