Breaking news: Trump is citing “national security” to halt all active work on offshore wind projects

Five giant energy projects, countless jobs at risk

My story explains how the argument has legal weaknesses and comes from an anti-wind policy doc I reported in January
Trump Uses ‘National Security’ To Freeze Offshore Wind Work
The administration has already lost once in court wielding the same argument against Revolution Wind.

AI is definitely ready to handle a National Climate Assessment. Look how it well it handled a query about a climate conversation that NCAR's Warren Washington had with the George H.W. Bush White House in 1990:

All of the people mentioned in the article don't work for the federal government AFAIK, and the U.S. Global Change Research Program's staff and infrastructure have been gutted. Who from the federal government is actually leading this new Grok NCA?
Today from @scottpwaldman.bsky.social, who reveals that the Trump admin has tapped Judith Curry, & potentially other authors of the DOE's recent misinformation-filled climate report, to helm the next NCA. Other authors could include Ryan Maue + Grok. Yup, that Grok. www.eenews.net/articles/its...
It’s the gold standard of US climate research. Contrarians could write the next one.
Researchers who have downplayed the threat of global warming have been asked to author the next National Climate Assessment.

Bob and I were among the hundreds of researchers that were supposed to conduct the 6th U.S. National Climate Assessment. Now it looks like they're gonna produce it with a few people and Grok? Communities need rigorous and accurate information about climate change. This will put communities at risk.

Hey folks: this morning we're launching a monthlong fundraiser for @techdirt.com. Over the last year, we've been steadfast in not self-censoring, not capitulating, not sanewashing bullshit. But that's come at a cost. And we need help: rtb.techdirt.com/products/fri...

No, I was told by many mid writers in many mid pieces over many mid years that cancel culture was out of control. I bet they got a new harper's letter ready to go now.

Why don't members of Congress bring this up? How is that the government's business is being done by a family member of the President without any formal government appointment?
Why is Jared even there? He doesn’t work for the government!
How would this be worded any differently if it were issued by the Kremlin?
