We need to build more clean electricity than most folks realize just to handle electric vehicles & buildings. The Administration is making clean electricity more expensive & harder to build, all while AI is spiking power demand. At my talk at MIT this week, I said when demand up & supply down: bad.

Manufacturing factory construction investment DOUBLED from 2021-2024. The IRA made clean energy cheaper to make, cheaper to use, and cheaper to build in America. Much of it now rolled back, energy will be more expensive for everyone for the next 10 years. It’s a crisis.

I mean, who specifically is saying this? How many State Dinners even happen in a year? A couple? (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of.... Maybe you can add on some other events, how many are we talking? We tore down a third of the White House to build a hotel ballroom for a handful of events per year?

I reminded the engineers of several canons of the code of ethics for civil engineers. Many actions of the Administration are in direct opposition to these.

I gave a public talk today about the engineering profession's responsibility to the public. I showed this picture and said, "the Administration is demolishing an entire wing of the White House today."

also, this is a concrete truck (or concrete mixer truck) not a cement truck. Cement is the dust you put in the mixer with rocks, water, and sand to make glorious concrete

just one more thing, where’s the money coming from for all of this, cause I coulda swore you can’t use private money to build on public lands without a PPP, so this must be from an appropriation somewheres? See because if it wasn’t that would be a violation of the anti deficiency act, which is bad

We went to #NoKings with my mother-in-law. Her father was in a Nazi prison camp as a resister, & survived. She & her husband escaped Czechoslovakia in the 1960s, traveled by ship from Germany to NY as refugees. Arrived in NY harbor in the morning fog, which lifted to reveal, the Statue of Liberty. 🇺🇸

Pittsburgh #NoKings was a fun family event. Full of American flags and chants of U.S.A. Very sincerely, it was beautiful.
