The conclusions in this thread (which you should read all of) about the role that Cultural Christianity has to play in the perspectives of so many Westerners toward Jews and why theories like this are so popular on the left nowadays, are completely accurate and something I’ve struggled to describe.
I’ve got a theory as to why the online left seems increasingly into the Khazar myth, which used to be the fringiest of far-right antisemitism (at least among white people—it was also popular among NOI/BHI, but I’m not touching that one).

in other words, this was 15 years ago when it was still unambiguously socially acceptable to portray a clear confederate analogue as evil in fiction

yeah i never watched the Zygerian arc on Clone Wars before, it’s very funny that the slavers expressly are MZGA (Make Zygeria Great Again) and Yoda looks at the camera at the end of one episode and basically states that the Sith are pro-slavery bc of right wing ideology

Indo-European linguistic connections like this are so cool. So too, "pur" or "puri" (British spelling, "pore") in many place names in India, e.g., Jodhpur, Jaipur, Kanpur.

Another example: "knowledge." Greek "γνώ" as in gnosis, Sanskrit "ज्ञा" as in jnana, and English "kno" as in know/ledge.

Of all the European far-left political movements and parties, Spain has the most deranged and extreme. The people who came out of the splintered Podemos movement. A Stalin worshipping lunatic asylum. And the current Spanish government is in coalition with and has to pander to some of them.
why does Spain not care about Ukraine

that’s not a rational thing to believe

if you start feeling like Only You Can See the Conspiracy AND that Everyone Can See the Conspiracy and So if They Disagree They’re In On It, you’re getting played, intentionally or not, by the psychodrama of being online

breath for a second. do you sincerely believe you live in a world where there is a sinister conspiracy between both political parties to sell out democracy that is obvious to anyone who looks at it, but that no one ever does anything to address, and that your internet friends figured out

@mohaveindv.bsky.social deleted their post blaming the Jews for buying off these Democrats and using our shady Jew money to coerce them into voting on cloture, but not before it was unironically reposted by 400 people.

I wonder why they decided to delete it?

OSCAR ISAAC, on whether he'd return to "Star Wars":

".. Yeah. I mean, I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great."

It’s the Joooooooooooooooos!!!!!!!!

The “do with that what you will” really adds an extra layer of vileness. The way they play their word games of “I’m just asking questions” or “well there ARE people who do [insert stereotype]” indicates a level of specific malevolence that we don’t often address.

It's time to stop amplifying accounts who are Anti-Democrats. Especially those whose only lean is to constantly trash our party, when all of this preventable mess, is due to Trump and the GOP who control all three branches. Many lack political investment in harm reduction!

The Venn diagram of people who didn't vote in 2024, told us we wouldn't be able to vote in the last election we just destroyed Republicans in and are now saying Democrats are just as bad as Republicans who sued to starve babies is a PERFECT circle.

I think this is accurate for a large portion of these people, absolutely.

I also think however that a lot of it is ratfucking specifically and knowingly on behalf of Republicans.

It's an example of the "it's easier to attack a heretic than a heathen" phenomenon. You already assume the latter is an enemy anyway so no point attacking them, but calling out someone who should be your ally is far easier and theoretically more effective.

There are two reasons people do this:

1. Hating Dems is "cool" and "hip" and the way to show that you're totally savvy and part of the in-group; and

2. It's just kind of assumed that the torches and pitchforks are already out for Republicans, so why actually bother to take them out?

Both are dumb
Exactly this. People are too quick to get out the torches and pitchforks for Dems and not quick enough for Republicans l.
I’ll reserve judgment after I see how things shake out. After all, y’all were ready to burn Ketanji Brown Jackson at the stake just a couple of days ago.

I don't have anything constructive to say about anything in the world except for fuck every single person who was eligible to vote for Kamala Harris and did not. Senate Democrats did not put us here, as they are inept losers unable to do this kind of damage. Only voters could fuck up this much.

you should call your senators to thank them for holding out as long as they did and to encourage them to continue to vote against further cloture motions and to shut things down again as soon as possible

Don’t forget, folks, this vote in the Senate yesterday can definitely be pinned on the worst criminal in all of American History: Hillary Clinton.
