There are tens of millions of registered Democrats because in many places you have to register to vote in the primary and the primary is the only meaningful election. The two major parties are, operationally, closer to components of our government than actual autonomous orgs, and that is bad.

Please read this piece from John Banks. It's just insane how we've destroyed our friendships, blown up the things that give us any kind of geopolitical advantange, and all in service of a project of small minded, greedy personalism.
Canada has stood with America when we were at our lowest, has fought and died in wars alongside us, has done everything a nation could to help and be amicable with another. And now America has gratuitously stabbed Canada in the back, and continues to do so. Things can never be the same again.
