it's kind of like when someone you love dies. when it's a car accident out of nowhere it crushes you in a different way than when it's the outcome of a terminal illness, but. it crushes you either way
I expected a lot of what we're experiencing (and to be real, for some bad things to happen more quickly than they have), but I still wasn't emotionally prepared for all of this, because some things will fuck you up, even if you know they're coming—like folks living in fear and needlessly suffering.
Does anyone feel like they were prepared, emotionally and intellectually, for the current political moment? There are certain things I was ready for (convergence of local and border policing), but for example the rise of granola fascism (RFK and COVID reaction) kind of blindsided me

I don't particularly care for choice feminism. It would be nice if we could spend more time helping women actually empower themselves to directly challenge our oppression whether it be artistically or in organizing, instead of just saying nothing a woman does could ever be anti-feminist.
