I feel like a thing we have collectively stopped talking about is how many police officers walked away from barricades or opened them that day- that reporting was everywhere before it all became “look at these Capitol police heroes”
This was just a few months after January 6, which is when I knew law enforcement organizations had every interest in defending January 6 because that was how they would amass power. Police do not work for "the people." (Then, of course, Biden funded them anyways.)

My main memory about January 6 was that for weeks leading up to it antifascists accurately predicted what would happen and were told that “everyone should stay at home and ignore them”
