All BRT in the twin cities should have separated bus lanes. The A line and any local routes with one snelling lane just for the BRT would be a game changer.

Paint only works for good humans.
They understood this in 1912

It's taken a concerted effort to get people to un-learn that speed matters

When a fed agent says "we need help" in calling MPD, and MPD shows up, that's MPD helping.

The whole point is that these abductions are illegitimate. They are the opposite of public safety. An "aid an officer" call from one of these abductions should not be treated as legitimate by local gov.
Here's the video we put together about Monday's standoff with ICE agents in South Minneapolis (29th and Pillsbury). More details at MPRNews.org: youtube.com/shorts/ZgQpV...

Minneapolis has FIFTY YEARS of inclusive laws protecting trans people, allowing them to self-identify, and ZERO cases of trans people attacking women in the bathroom. ZERO. Over FIFTY YEARS.
The narrative is that trans people will harm and harass people in the bathroom, but it almost always is actually like this case where the aggressor is the transphobe confronting the trans person. It's ridiculous. They want to kick "undesirables" out from public life entirely, if they could.

@amyklobuchar.com You heartless b. I'm a real person. I have hated the fact you are my Senator for years, even before I figured out I was non-binary and therefore trans. We WILL get you out of office. You don't deserve to represent such a great state.
Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

They dragged a woman on the road and called the police because they were threatened by people throwing snowballs at them. ICE is composed of the biggest cowards on the planet
Hennepin County dispatch got a panicked call from a Department of Homeland Security supervisor in Minneapolis requesting assistance because “we only have a few officers but we have 60-70 agitators fighting them.” Hennepin deputies didn’t witness any attacks on agents.

today in whittier ICE threw ppl to the ground, dragged them on the pavement, arrested multiple people, tased an observer, pepper sprayed the crowd, shot pepper balls, and pointed an assault rifle. neighbors made a huge crowd and tons of noise whistling and honking until they left
Disheartening to see federal agents take two neighbors on 29th & Pillsbury. Chemical irritants were used on observers by them.

MPD showed up on scene, created a pathway for these federal agents to kidnap our neighbors, and assisted with controlling the space. Disappointing and heartbreaking.

I think it's really cool that we have democratic leadership that is largely silent about this issue. A leadership that believes making a "tsk tsk" press release once every month counts as a form of political opposition while otherwise dropping the issue in its entirety.

Cultural-social events are crucial for building a mass socialist left. One lost example of this: Milwaukee's sewer socialists in 1925 organized a children's orchestra competition on a Friday evening at Lake Park, attended by 5,000 parents and community members

How ICE actions are affecting the ability for some of our neighbors to participate in a walkable city?

How can bus riders look out for their fellow passengers?

Mayor Frey says he is already planning to veto this. A bare minimum policy.

This is in addition to his refusal to implement emergency housing vouchers & the expansion of stable homes stable schools earlier this year.

There’s no plan and no will to implement solutions that are funded.
The Minneapolis City Council approved new homeless encampment policies that will provide toilets, collect trash and allow more time before forcing out inhabitants, among other changes.

Proponents call the ordinance more humane, but Mayor Jacob Frey opposes and might veto it.

Why does everything have to be a drive-in destination?!?! Can we not imagine a city that is built for people who live and work here?

Always centered on a foundation that revolves around suburban and exurban benefactors, first. Transit and walkability for the actual community is a secondary concern🙄
Every time Frey Guys write op-eds they are so miserable about the city. I’m not even sure this is really a counterpoint to Steve Brandt. And even Linea Palmisano sounds skeptical of the one idea (free parking). Figlio’s ain’t walking through that door, Greg. www.startribune.com/twin-cities-...

Once again, the entirety of our weather coverage is related to driving conditions. It's often too wet, too slippery, too snowy, too dark, or too windy to drive. Cars and trucks are so obviously not universally effective transportation modes. We need alternatives.

Respectfully, Congresswoman, you voted with Republicans to strip due process from immigrants and to praise Trump's ICE. This year.

Now you're upset?

Votes have consequences. Minnesotans deserve better.
ICE agents followed a Burnsville family home from the store, failed to present a warrant and entered their home with guns drawn. They detained 4 legal citizens who presented documentation, leaving a 7 year-old without parents.

A seven-year-old. Let that sink in. Trump’s ICE is out of control.

Ice agents drew weapons on an observer in Richfield today and threatened to arrest them for impeding. Richfield cops told them that if the observer followed them for more than three blocks, ICE could arrest them.
If you’re are tracking ICE in the Twin Cities. Be careful. DHS agents are agro dipshits and get super scared when they don’t understand why someone wouldn’t want them to abduct people.

They are loose cannons is what I’m saying.
