I'll never get a better book blurb than this
Blame Schumer. But also blame the union leaders that capitulated two weeks ago and that refused to put up a real fight to save Americans' health care

We urgently need new leaders — not just in the Democratic Party, but also in organized labor

Crazy that labor didn't put up a fight to stop these Senators from capitulating, the main federal union capitulated two weeks ago and other unions issued press releases that everyone ignored

Part of the reason Democrats don't fight is that most union leaders don't fight either
November 10, 2025 at 4:08 AM
People shouldn't forget that the first domino setting off tonight's capitulation came from the American Federation of Government Employees two weeks ago

Millions of American workers are now going to lose their health care

What ever happened to solidarity?

Federal workers should immediately call and write to Tim Kaine to demand he not capitulate to the Republicans in their name

Zohran is right

Everybody should donate right now to @organizeworkers.bsky.social, so it can hire a NYC organizer to help our city's workers win
November 8, 2025 at 7:27 PM
Zohran ran up crazy numbers with non-white young people (18-29 year olds):

Black youth: Mamdani 84%
Latino youth: Mamdani 86%
White youth: Mamdani 66%
November 8, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Liberal operatives say the secret to electoral success is always pivoting to the "moderate center"

But this vastly overstates voters' ideological coherence and it can't explain how Zohran won 35% of "moderates" and 9% of "conservatives"
November 7, 2025 at 9:38 PM
It's amazing that @socialists.nyc has surged to over 11,000 members 🌹

And that's just the floor

Wisconsin's "sewer socialists" had 1 member for every 100 people in Milwaukee—to reach that today we'll need about 84,780 members in NYC
November 7, 2025 at 4:55 PM
Mass campaigns are crucial for exerting pressure on politicians — and they're also great pathways to get large numbers to join membership organizations like @socialists.nyc

Silly that rightwingers and centrists keep arguing Zohran's win was less decisive than Spanberger and co

Had this had been a normal two way race, Dem vs Republican, Zohran would have won by 75% minimum
November 6, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Zohran's movement upended the electoral playbook in the mayoral race — now it's continuing to break new ground by building an organized mass campaign to make New York affordable again

Everybody opposed to authoritarianism and oligarchy should needs to stand in solidarity with the Starbucks workers who are likely going on strike starting November 13

This is a winnable fight — but it'll take all of our support to help workers get past the finish line
BREAKING: After months of stonewalling by Starbucks, unionized baristas just voted 92% to authorize a ULP strike unless Starbucks finalizes fair contracts & stops union busting.

If forced, our baristas will strike in dozens of cities on November 13 – the company's busiest sales day of the year.
Starbucks unionized workers say they'll strike on Nov. 13 if coffee giant doesn't finalize contract
Union members say they are ready to strike on the chain's Red Cup Day if Starbucks doesn't finalize a contract with their union by then.

Here's why @mattyglesias.bsky.social is wrong about the national significance of Zohran's big win

1/ NYC's race was, among other things, a referendum on the future of the Democratic Party. And the establishment lost badly 🧵
November 5, 2025 at 5:00 PM
May be cheesy, but I do think it's beautiful that so many young people got involved in politics for the first time through Zohran's campaign, just an extremely hopeful dynamic

People outside of NYC haven't understood just how much our airwaves for the last month have been filled by scaremongering and Islamophobia. It didn't work!

Billionaires literally tried to buy this election and they lost

I was on Brian Lehrer this morning to debate the editor of the NY Daily News, Michael Aronson, over whether Zohran could pass his agenda in Albany.

Take a listen or share with any family or friends who are still undecided!

Over 40 million Americans are going to lose their SNAP food benefits on Saturday, yet Trump is refusing to use the USDA's $6 billion contingency funds to cover this emergency

If the Democrats were smart, they would start raising hell about Trump's cruel decision to let millions go hungry
