ICE claims they have nothing to hide… then why are they keeping the doors locked?

DWC members across the country will continue fighting to exercise our constitutional right to inspect at ICE facilities.

Happy Mardi Gras! Today, my office is getting a taste of Louisiana and celebrating with our King Cake thanks to @reptroycarter.bsky.social.

On Presidents Day, we remember America was built on rejecting monarchy and upholding the Constitution above any one ruler.

Today and every day, let’s recommit ourselves to these founding ideals.

It’s always great to see @uaw.org!

Last week, I sat down with some of the folks who keep Minnesota moving to discuss how we can continue to fight for workers’ rights to organize and collectively bargain.

Happy Valentines Day, Minnesota!

I’m grateful for my Valentine – the love of my life, my wife Cheryl. We’re wishing everyone in #MN02 a joyful day spent with their loved ones. ❤️💌

President Trump is once again using his power to target his political opponents and undermine public health.

It’s immoral, illegitimate and above all — illegal.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — sue their asses, @ag.state.mn.us.

Judge blocks Trump admin from rescinding health grants to Democratic-led states
The ruling temporarily blocks the Trump Administration from cutting $600 million in public health grants that had already been allocated to four Democratic-led states.

From funding cuts to ICE raids on school campuses, MN educators have felt the impacts of the Trump Admin’s relentless attacks on parents, teachers and families firsthand. This week, I sat down with Education MN to talk about how we can keep our schools safe places for kids and teachers alike.

There's no excuse for the fact that folks are being forced to choose between putting food on the table and paying medical bills.

I’m introducing a bill with Rep. Vasquez that will offer folks relief from medical debt and prevent companies from exploiting Minnesotans.

Yesterday, I sat down with representatives from the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe to hear about how ICE’s presence in MN is impacting Tribal Members and reigniting historical trauma.

I’m grateful for these important conversations and look forward to charting a path forward together from this chaos.

ICE never should have been in Minnesota in the first place.
February 12, 2026 at 5:25 PM
I’m glad to hear that the Admin plans to withdraw ICE and CBP from Minnesota — however their claims that Operation Metro Surge made Minnesota safer are wildly untrue.

Their rogue agents killed two Minnesotans, traumatized children and detained countless immigrants and U.S. citizens alike.

My Republican colleagues are trying to pass a bill that would make it harder for folks across the country to vote. Why? Because they’re afraid of losing elections. That’s not how democracy works. I’m a hell no.

It was great to meet with the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Business Council in DC this morning.

I’ll always stand up for Minnesota’s tribal communities. I’m honored to work alongside SMSC as I represent Minnesota’s Second District in Congress.

I had an important conversation with the MN Elementary School Principals Association today. As Trump attacks special ed programs and schools deal with the fall-out from the ICE surge, I'm working with principals and educators to give every MN child access to the quality education they deserve.

House Republicans are trying to pass a bill that would prevent Congress from ever blocking Trump’s tariffs — aka abdicating their responsibility to check the President’s power…again.

Speaker Johnson putting President Trump before the American people. Shocker.

This year we've seen health care costs skyrocket and hundreds of rural hospitals be pushed to the brink of closure.

Today in DC I spoke at the National Rural Health Policy Institute about how we can make health care affordable again and ensure our rural communities have the resources they need.

Of course Trump officials won’t apologize to the families of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

Wish I could say I’m surprised.
SWALWELL: Will you apologize to the family of Renee Good for being called a domestic terrorist by the president and his leadership?

LYONS: No sir

SWALWELL: Is she a domestic terrorist?

LYONS: I'm not going to comment on an active investigation

Right now in Minnesota, kids are living in fear, hearing of neighbors being shot in the streets and seeing their classmates be taken by ICE.

It's more than any child should have to experience.

I’m demanding this admin stop traumatizing our children.
February 10, 2026 at 7:23 PM
This week I met with AFGE Local 1969 – Alex Pretti’s union.

Alex will be remembered for his service to our nation’s veterans.

It’s going to take all of us coming together to fix what this admin has broken. It’s unions like AFGE who will get that work done.

For too many Minnesotans, buying a home is out of reach. Tonight, I voted for a bipartisan housing package that will expand the housing supply and help Minnesotans cut through red tape.

It’s past time to lower the cost of housing and ensure that Minnesotans can put down roots in our communities.

It was great to join The Open Door for their Super Bagging event in Eagan this weekend.

Right now, Minnesotans are doing what we do best: helping our neighbors. I’m proud to work with groups like The Open Door to feed our community.

In February, we celebrate Black History Month and honor the invaluable contributions of Black Minnesotans.

Our state is a better place thanks to the rich culture and remarkable achievements of Minnesota’s Black community.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday Minnesota!

I’m (reluctantly) rooting for the Seahawks. They may not be the Vikings, but I’ll cheer for Sam Darnold any day. Stay safe and have fun today everyone!
