nuzzi / lizza misconduct imo enabled the destruction of so much public health & scientific research — and a resurgence in measles in the US. this is not petty tabloid gossip or inside baseball. that they went undetected or were rewarded while great reporters were laid off? it’s a huge system failure

I know several of my friends and colleagues use Scrivener for their writing projects so heads up! 👇🏾
Unlike most apps these days, Scrivener does not use AI in any way. However, if you’re on a Mac, you may see an AI prompt.

These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.

ICE is a team sport for guys who would otherwise be school shooters
“They didn’t just walk in chasing one person, they went into multiple rooms asking and looking for teachers while children were present,” Ramirez said. “This is an agency that has gone rogue and it an agency that believes that as long as they can cover their face, they can get away with anything.”

Every post is a Jesse Plemons appreciation post (and a Michael B Jordan appreciation post) because of what they did to my heart in fictional Dillon, Texas.
when JP did A Bad Thing in an episode of Breaking Bad I texted @lindseywoho.bsky.social “LANDRY” and she immediately texted back “LANCE”
You can always tell who first saw Jesse Plemons in FNL and who first saw him in Breaking Bad based on how you react to him being sweet and charming. It's either "that's the Landry I know" or "Todd isn't a dick? So weird"

Every $1 invested in SNAP generates $1.80 in local economic activity. Without SNAP, that will mean a loss of $15 billion to the US economy just in November alone.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
