Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (one of 7 Democrats who just voted to fund DHS) defends her stance.

Argues funding for ICE "is not the question." Instead, Senate Democrats have leverage for various demands.

So it's decided: Every documentary will begin with the subject getting miked in a sit-down interview, idle chit-chat with the offscreen director, and then cutting to the title card after they ask, "Have we started?"

You might have a problem in that you're on Bluesky, the social network for Former Gifted Kids. Everyone here is just assumed to be a genius who has somehow managed to fuck up their life anyway. Post on Threads and everyone will think you're thick.

If you're from outside MN and feel weird about sending a "Hope you're okay!" text to someone here, don't. Haven't talked since high school? Ex-coworker from 6 years ago? Already sent one a week ago? Doesn't matter.

Every time I get one it's a big relief that people are paying attention.

The fact that Vance and Miller - the most powerful members of the administration - are publicly socially intermeshed with open and unapologetic Nazis is the Chekhov’s gun of Trump’s second term, even if the press have refuse to acknowledge.

Now it’s shooting us in the face.

The day we realize not only that all forms of oppression are connected but *how* they’re connected is a day that unlocks untold possibilities.
I am begging people to realize you can care about multiple things and believe in the liberation of multiple groups of people at the same time.

Being for liberation for all isn't contradictory. It's intersectional.

So far, Columbia has gotten back exactly 0% of its withheld funds, despite its willingness to "negotiate" with the Trump Administration.
In a head-spinning pair of announcements on Wednesday, the National Institutes of Health told staff that it would lift its monthslong freeze on all research funding to Columbia University — then reversed its reversal, emails show.
