There's nothing any live music head respects and appreciates more than a band or artist that goes super hard for an undersold room. I've seen well over a thousand shows in my life and some of the ones that stand out the most were exactly that.
Some advice from your pals in Perennial:
If a show is lightly attended, play even harder. Go nuts; give those folks your very best
Because:
A) You should reward the folks that *did* show up
B) every cool band in history has a story about how they tore the roof off a show with 4 people in the crowd
