It all happened because LT William Alexander, the PAO at the time, was a HUGE Jerry Garcia/Grateful Dead fan and knew Jerry Garcia personally. While we were in Alameda, Willie got a call from Jerry who asked if Willie would like to have his band over for a while to play some tunes for the crew as they wanted to try out some new stuff. Willie came to me (I was the Admin Officer) with the spur of the moment idea and, after touching base with the XO, I gave him the go ahead. There was absolutely no "requirement" for officers to attend to put on a show as alluded to in the link. The crowd was small as indicated in the link, but that was because it was a spur of the moment thing and it was simply a place where Jerry and his band could play some tunes for the crew and all came about because of Willie's friendship with Jerry.

#randomgamesaturday is Virtua Racing from Sega. No texture mapping, no problem. Seeing this run a smooth 60fps on the arcade cabinet is really something. Played at the Asheville Pinball Museum, which I also highly recommend
